What Is A GivePower Trek

Treks are life-changing, hands-on experiences where a group of ten volunteers journey to a remote community in regions like Colombia, Kenya, Nepal and the Philippines, immerse themselves in village culture and install a solar microgrid to power the community.

Day 1

The GivePower team greets you at the nearest major city and takes you to your hotel. Enjoy a kick-off team dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

Travel to the Trek site for a warm welcome from local villagers before the installation begins.

Days 3-4

Begin the installation with GivePower team, digging trenches, running wires and installing a solar array. Engage in cultural activities and explore the surrounding area.

Day 5

Finish your installation. At sunset, experience a traditional lighting festival as you flip the power switch.

Day 6

Depart from the village. Enjoy a farewell team dinner in the city. Rest in a select hotel.

Day 7

Begin your journey home.
