GivePower has reached its 150th Trek. Across nine countries, 1,466 Trekkers have worked alongside partners and local communities to help bring reliable electricity to 177,175 people. The 150th Trek took place in Kenya, where Trekkers helped power Ganze Primary School, a community hub that will positively impact more than 16,000 people.
This milestone reflects not just how far GivePower has come, but the people who made it possible. Whether in Kenya, Colombia, Nepal or the Philippines, the heart of every GivePower Trek remains the same: people coming together around a shared purpose.

Each Trek begins with a donation that brings clean energy to schools, health clinics and vital community spaces. Over seven days, Trekkers travel to remote communities to build a solar microgrid from the ground up, working side by side with local partners and forging connections across cultures. For many, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see their impact firsthand.
My body is physically exhausted, but emotionally and spiritually, I couldn’t be higher right now. My hope is that, with power, they can go and accomplish whatever it is they want to. To live to their highest potential.
– Chad, GivePower Milestone Trekker
GivePower Treks are never just about power. They’re about the opportunities that power creates. Students can study after dark. Teachers gain new tools to support learning. Clinics can provide life-saving care to patients who need it most. Through GivePower Treks, each community gains the resources and agency to shape its own future.
The positive impact doesn’t end when the project is complete. It lives on through community-powered progress, meaningful relationships and memories that last long after the journey ends.
Every Trek reminds me that we don’t just install solar power. We leave behind hope and open doors to new possibilities. I’ve seen classrooms filled with excitement, health centers better equipped to save lives and communities embrace opportunities they never thought possible. But what stays with me most are the people, the conversations, the laughter and the genuine connections we build along the way. Long after the lights come on, it’s the relationships, the memories, and the hope we leave behind that continue to shine 150 times.
– Gerishon, GivePower Kenya Trek Leader

Experiences like these have transformed Treks from a single experience into a global movement rooted in people, partnership and possibility. As GivePower’s Trek program evolves, GivePower is exploring new ways to expand its positive impact beyond electrification, including safe water access and other community-centered solutions.
150 Treks in, and GivePower is only picking up speed.
