  • Hayes Barnard

    Founder, Chairman, CEO

    Hayes is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of the GivePower Foundation and GoodLeap, the largest U.S. financial technology company focused on home improvement. In 2020, he founded GoodFinch, a sustainable-investment asset manager now the largest finance platform for solar and home improvement assets. Earlier, Hayes founded, scaled, and sold multiple sustainability and finance businesses, including Paramount Solar, acquired by SolarCity in 2013.

    Under his leadership, GivePower earned the Global Water Award in Dubai and Kenya’s Energy Globe Award for its life-saving Solar Water Farm technology, which brings clean water to people in critical need across the developing world

  • Michele Magee

    President

    Michele has served as President of GivePower since 2020, overseeing its global operations and foreign subsidiary boards. Under her leadership, GivePower has expanded from 22 to 168 employees, tripled annual impact and completed over 2,700 solar projects in 32 countries—improving 2.7+ million lives. Before joining GivePower, Michele held senior leadership roles at SolarCity and CBS Radio, as well as C-level positions in seven privately-held companies. Her track record in scaling high-performance teams and driving growth has earned the organization multiple honors, including the 2021 Energy Globe Award.

    Aparna Mohla

    Vice President of Corporate Partnerships

    Since 2020, Aparna has led the GivePartners program. She is deeply passionate about GivePower’s mission and considers this work her life’s calling. With 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, Aparna began her career at SolarCity in 2011 and was named MVP of the Year in 2014 among 4,000+ sales consultants. Following Tesla’s acquisition of SolarCity in 2016, she oversaw onboarding and sales training programs across North America. Aparna holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Hofstra University. Born in Bombay, India, she now lives in Phoenix and is a proud single mother of two daughters, Kinsey and Krissy.

  • Barrett Raftery

    Vice President of Strategic Partnerships

    Barrett brings nearly 20 years of experience in renewable energy, international development and social enterprise to his role as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at GivePower. Since joining the organization in 2016, he has also served as Executive Director and Vice President of Impact, playing a key role in shaping GivePower’s growth and global impact. Today, he leads international fundraising and cultivates partnerships with donors, development agencies, academic institutions and philanthropists. His work reflects a deep commitment to sustainability, climate resilience and innovative investment for long-term change.

  • Benjamin Materna

    Vice President of Solar Impact Projects

    Benjamin oversees GivePower’s global portfolio of solar projects, delivering clean energy solutions for critical services like water, healthcare and education in underserved regions as well as community microgrids. Since joining GivePower in 2019, he has driven high-impact deployments with a focus on efficiency, innovation and long-term community benefit. Previously, Benjamin led Tesla’s microgrid division which included disaster relief projects. He also held key roles at SolarCity, Standard Microgrid and other top American renewable energy organizations. With over two decades deploying solar projects abroad, he brings deep expertise in project management, technical innovation and expanding energy access.

    Doug Walbert

    Vice President of Impact Travel

    With 25+ years of experience, Doug brings deep expertise in designing and executing complex global travel programs. He has led the strategy and delivery of corporate and individual incentive travel programs for major corporations worldwide, creating high-impact, purpose-driven experiences. At GivePower, Doug has played a pivotal role in expanding the Global Trek program, growing it from a small number of annual trips to over 30 each year. He leads the team in delivering immersive journeys that take supporters to remote, off-grid communities to help build solar microgrids, bringing reliable, clean energy to areas that previously lacked access to electricity.

  • Eric Odipo

    General Manager, East Africa

    Eric serves as Country Manager for GivePower in Kenya, overseeing the Solar Water Farm program and a team of over 50 employees operating across nine sites. Since joining in 2021, he has led the production and delivery of over 390 million liters of safe, clean, affordable water to communities in need. With nearly three decades of leadership experience at companies including MultiChoice, Microsoft, Sara Lee and Westcon Group, Eric brings deep operational expertise and a strong commitment to community impact. He holds an engineering degree and an MBA in marketing.

    Frank Feigenbaum

    Vice President of Global Business Operations

    As Vice President of Global Business Operations, Frank helps ensure GivePower has the people, processes, systems and partnerships needed to maximize its positive impact around the world. Throughout his career, Frank has been passionate about building strong teams, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and creating operational foundations that enable organizations to scale their impact and deliver meaningful results for the communities they serve. Before joining GivePower, Frank held leadership roles across technology, financial services, e-commerce and education, helping organizations grow internationally, improve operations and launch new products and services in markets. His experience spans both large global enterprises and mission-driven organizations.

    Greg Wanta

    Controller

    Greg manages GivePower’s global financial operations, internal controls and compliance. From budgeting and reporting to resource planning, Greg ensures that GivePower’s finances are sound and maximum resources flow directly toward deploying clean energy and water solutions to communities in need. Before GivePower, Greg built his career in corporate finance and accounting across the renewable energy and technology sectors. He has guided organizations through complex financial growth, built scalable accounting infrastructure and helped high-growth companies strengthen their financial foundations. Based in Idaho, Greg and his family make the most of the outdoors, skiing, golfing, rafting and cruising around town on e-bikes.

  • Kyle Stephan

    Vice President of Solar Water Solutions

    With nearly two decades of experience, Kyle leads GivePower’s award-winning Solar Water Farm program, overseeing global operations including system manufacturing, research and development, site identification, retail operations and last-mile distribution. Under his leadership, the program has received the Energy Globe Award for Kenya, the Global Water Award and top honors in Fast Company’s World-Changing Ideas Award. Prior to joining GivePower, Kyle served as President of Katadyn Desalination, bringing new pump and control system technologies to market, streamlining manufacturing and expanding strategic markets. He also contributed to advanced R&D projects for DARPA, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.

    Lucy Fratantoni

    Senior Director of Global Human Resources

    As Senior Director of Global Human Resources at GivePower, Lucy leads HR strategy and operations across a global workforce. She oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, workforce planning, culture and engagement, compliance and organizational effectiveness, partnering with teams in the U.S., Kenya, Haiti, Tanzania, and Colombia. Lucy works closely with leadership on training, coaching, employee development and performance management. Before GivePower, she held strategic HR roles in the travel technology and life sciences sectors. Having lived and worked across multiple continents, she brings extensive international experience in talent development, HR transformation, systems implementation and workforce optimization.

    Senior Vice President of Development

    Ray is a fundraising executive with over 20 years of experience building high-performing development programs. His expertise spans major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, strategic partnerships and grassroots fundraising, with a focus on sustainable revenue growth. He is passionate about climate, technology and human health and mobilizing philanthropy to drive meaningful change. Before joining GivePower, Ray served as a strategic advisor while leading fundraising for health and human service nonprofits. As Senior Vice President of Development, he cultivates transformational partnerships and mobilizes philanthropic investment to expand access to clean energy and safe drinking water for communities that need it most.

    Robin Churchill

    Country Manager, Haiti

    Robin is a dedicated humanitarian worker with an extensive background in public safety and security. He served 26 years as an officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police before focusing on sustainable development and community resilience. In 2015, Robin and his family moved to Haiti, where, as director for West Indies Self Help (WISH), he has been leading critical infrastructure initiatives to provide Gonâve Island with essential water and electricity. Today, he also serves as the Haiti Country Manager at GivePower, overseeing the deployment and operations of sustainable, solar-powered desalination systems to deliver safe, affordable drinking water.

    Samantha Brook

    Senior Director of Solar Water Farm Development

    Samantha leads the global development and deployment of GivePower’s Solar Water Farm projects, from identifying communities in need and evaluating technical feasibility to permitting, construction and commissioning. Together with global partners and local teams, she helps bring sustainable, long-term water solutions to life. Samantha began her career integrating geospatial technologies into operational decision-making, then developed large-scale solar projects in Virginia and built a company’s supply chain department. She has also founded multiple diversity-focused groups, including the Charlottesville Chapter of Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy, the Sun Tribe Respect, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity group and Women Empowered at GivePower.

    Stew Myers

    Senior Director of Analytics

    Stew leads GivePower’s data strategy, IT and financial and operational reporting. He built GivePower’s reporting framework from the ground up, designing the data pipelines and database architecture behind its live reporting. He manages the Solar Water Farm program’s operating budgets and leads the Salesforce CRM implementation for fundraising. Previously, Stew worked in management consulting and global technology operations, advising private equity and corporate clients on M&A integrations across North America and Europe. He holds an MBA in Finance and Sustainability from Duquesne University. Outside of work, Stew volunteers with a local parks advocacy organization, reflecting his commitment to environmental stewardship.

    Theresa Sweeney

    Senior Director of Engineering

    With a background in mechanical engineering, Theresa brings extensive experience in the solar industry, from residential to utility-scale projects. She first joined GivePower as a volunteer, supporting early projects in Anse-à-Galets, Haiti, and Likoni, Kenya, before becoming the organization’s first full-time engineer. As GivePower’s work expanded, she supported both Solar Water Farm (SWF) and Solar Impact Project initiatives before focusing solely on SWF engineering. Today, she oversees technical design and engineering support across every stage of the SWF process. From assembly and development to repairs and maintenance, Theresa helps ensure GivePower’s operational projects run smoothly and serve communities reliably.
