La emprendedora de hoy es una inspiradora creadora de negocios: Michele Magee, presidenta de la Fundaci\u00f3n GivePower. Ha fundado y hecho crecer siete empresas, entre ellas una de las primeras compa\u00f1\u00edas de financiamiento de energ\u00eda solar, en la que fue miembro clave, y ha dirigido equipos de hasta 1 400 personas a lo largo de su carrera. Es una figura destacada en ventas, mercadotecnia y operaciones con mucha experiencia que compartir.<\/p>\n

A los 26 a\u00f1os, una joven Michele y su esposo pusieron en marcha sus primeros negocios mientras ella se dedicaba a su trabajo diario en CBS Radio. Y eso fue incluso antes de que se metiera en la industria solar, lo cual fue en s\u00ed mismo un momento fortuito del que habla con detalle en la pl\u00e1tica. Cuando se le pregunt\u00f3 qu\u00e9 principio rector la ayud\u00f3 a trabajar bien con su esposo (y con otras personas), su consejo fue: \u201cConoce tus fortalezas, respeta las fortalezas de tu pareja y mantente en tu lugar\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pero fue el encuentro fortuito de Michele con Hayes Barnard en 2005 lo que cambi\u00f3 el rumbo de su carrera. Tras una apasionada conversaci\u00f3n sobre estrategia radiof\u00f3nica (Hayes era cliente en ese momento), Hayes le hizo una pregunta que la convenci\u00f3 de dejar atr\u00e1s una carrera de 13 a\u00f1os en la industria de la radio. Nos adentramos en ese momento y en c\u00f3mo esa pregunta clave la llev\u00f3 a la empresa hipotecaria que finalmente lanz\u00f3 Loanpal, ahora conocido como GoodLeap<\/em>. Una conversaci\u00f3n que tuve con Hayes en 2007 sobre la construcci\u00f3n de escuelas en \u00c1frica acab\u00f3 convirti\u00e9ndose en el modelo de negocio que hoy en d\u00eda es GivePower.
