A FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE AGAINST COVID-19

IS

CLEAN WATER.

At GivePower, we have seen strife. We have seen disease and struggle in various regions around the world. We have also seen the life-changing impact solar power and clean water can have on so many of these communities.

As COVID-19 extends its reach into the developing world, our mission to provide reliable power and clean water to the people who need it most is more relevant than ever before.

Clean water is critical for the prevention of, and recovery from, COVID-19 infection. The two most important ways in which water is life-saving:

CLEAN WATER FOR HANDWASHING AND GOOD HYGIENE

HEALTHY HYDRATION FOR FIGHTING FEVERS

Clean water becomes even more critical at this time, considering these regions already faced many waterborne diseases and general water scarcity before this pandemic.

As such, we are incredibly grateful that GivePower’s newest large-scale Solar Water Farm— the BLU Drop “Max”— is now operational in LaGonâve, Haiti. This Max system can provide enough clean drinking water for up to 35,000 people every day.

PROJECT IN PROGRESS

LIKONI, KENYA

Construction of GivePower’s next BLU Drop Max is nearly complete in Likoni, Mombasa, Kenya. Like Haiti, this new installation will provide much needed relief and help for this water-starved community to combat COVID-19 as it spreads.

RAPID DEPLOYMENT SOLAR WATER FARM

INTRODUCING THE BLU Drop “MOBI”

The GivePower engineering team is completing work on a new Solar Water Farm model– the BLU Drop “Mobi” – a more mobile unit that is faster to deploy than our larger scale “Max”. In just a matter of days, this new unit can be installed and operational, producing enough clean drinking water for up to 3,000 people per day.

Our operations and deployment teams are currently reviewing potential sites for our first BLU Drop Mobi installation. Areas that are water-scarce and prone to the fast spread of COVID-19 will be key in the site selection process.

We look forward to sharing new developments about this project in the coming month.
